Our organization was founded by the Seattle Chinese School as part of the community outreach effort in 2000. As the scope and program expand, in 2008 we established as a non-profit organization with Washington State, and in 2009 we were granted the 501-c tax-exempt status by IRS. All our members are volunteers from the community dedicated to promoting a better understanding of Chinese language and culture through education by offering cultural learning opportunities to public schools and other institutions alike. There is no pay staff in our organization.

Through our successful fund raising and generous donations from supporters and local businesses, CE again is able to sponsor 3-4 teachers from the Greater Seattle area the opportunity to explore Chinese culture and acquire personal experience with the Chinese people by taking a trip to China,
Hong Kong, and Taiwan in summer 2013. All teachers from the Greater Seattle
area who are interested in enhancing their teaching component on China are welcome
